Cordova/The Córdoba Civil Guard Team has dismantled a criminal group composed of two people allegedly dedicated to carrying out technology scams by impersonating their victims to contract landline and mobile telephone and internet lines for subsequent sale on second-hand websites.
As reported this Tuesday by the Command, the investigations began last January, after receiving a complaint for the alleged usurpation of a person’s identity and the subsequent use of their data in the contracting of loans and telephone lines, receiving the prejudiced claims for debts generated.
In the initial phase of the investigation, the agents managed to identify the alleged perpetrators, A Man and a Womanwhich they carried out, as a security measure, constant changes of address.
Once the alleged perpetrators were located, a device was established for their arrest, which was carried out recently, with the Civil Guard proceeding to arrest them as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of usurpation of civil status and fraud.
The development of the research has allowed us to clarify a total of nine crimes, five of them for usurpation of marital status and another four for fraud. The Command continues to open the operation, so new actions are not ruled out.

The Córdoba Team has recommended a series of guidelines in relation to the processing of personal data, such as never sharing personal or banking information with strangers over the internet and, if necessary, before transferring personal data to third parties, verify the identity of the recipient and the processing thereof. .
The Civil Guard also recommends that if you have suffered this type of crime, you file a formal complaint in person or through the official Civil Guard website.
