The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, assured in the last hours that since President Javier Milei took office “retirements have risen 4% in real terms.”
“In dollars, practically 100%,” he added to construction businessmen.
During his participation in the Annual Convention of the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO), Caputo assured that May was the month with the best numbers for the Government, asked businessmen to support the model and promised to lower taxes by 90%.
“How do you reverse this? With you also supporting the model. Trusting that those of us who are here are 100% motivated to serve,” said the head of the Treasury before the construction businessmen.
And, he added: “Where the economy begins to grow, we are going to return that money in lower taxes.”
Caputo highlighted the opportunity of tax and money laundering for businessmen to “regularize the situations of their companies, employees and personnel.”
And he predicted: “At the end of our mandate we will have reduced 90% of the taxes that exist today in Argentina.”
Criticism of the opposition
During his participation in the event, Caputo attacked the opposition “whose only objective is to form a government again to continue with the same practices they had all these years.”
“How can Kirchnerism return to power?” Convincing you that they know how to govern. They destroyed the country and what they didn’t destroy they took away. The only way is to convince you that those who come are just as bad as them,” he told the businessmen.
He also blamed politics for the rise of the dollar, which in the last day rose another $35 and settled in Córdoba at $1,379.
“The dollar rose 10% in 6 months from 1,180 to 1,300, the previous government went from 60 to 1,200,” he compared.
“Just 6 months passed. We left intensive care and are in clear recovery. The May numbers were the best of these 6 months,” said Caputo.
