At least seven people were murdered this Tuesday night after an armed attack which was recorded in the Alto del Perro sector, Cabeceras village, in Rionegro (Eastern Antioquia).

According to the commander of the Antioquia Police, Colonel Carlos Martínez, The events were recorded around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday the 25th. of June in action perpetrated by heavily armed unknown persons. He reported that the Government of Antioquia and the Police ordered a reward of up to 50 million pesos for those who provide information to find those responsible for the massacre.

Soldiers from the National Army, National Police and Gaula Oriente activated the padlock plan in the municipalities surrounding the town center of the Cabeceras village to find those responsible.

The bodies remain at the site waiting for judicial officials to arrive to carry out forensic work.

Commander Carlos Andrés Martínez and the Secretary of Security of Antioquia, General (r) Luis Eduardo Martínez, were present in the area.

The last massacre that was recorded in Rionegro occurred on January 19, 2023, when three people were murdered in a house in the Juan Antonio Murillo neighborhood. The bodies of two men and a woman were found in the El Laberinto sector, on the third floor.

According to the authorities at the time, Armed men entered the property where these three people lived and fired with a silencer. The neighbors did not hear the shots.
