The Ministry of Public Health of the Province, headed by Ricardo Cardozo, through the Undersecretary of Health Management, held a talk in San Luis del Palmar. Topics such as Vector Diseases and Climate Change, Dengue in the context of respiratory diseases and Management of Urban Solid Waste and Pathological Waste were discussed.

The activity was aimed at students of related careers, health personnel and the general public. The same training has already been carried out in the towns of Caá Catí, Saladas, Empedrado, Alvear and Curuzú Cuatiá.

“We presented the Health and Environment Program in San Luis del Palmar, an activity that is carried out in conjunction with the municipality of that town. There were members of the team from the GIRSU Executing Unit Area (Comprehensive Management of Urban Solid Waste) of the Ministry of Coordination and Planning. Also, from the General Directorate of Epidemiology, Dr. Elba Meza gave a presentation on Dengue,” said the Undersecretary of Health Management, Silvina Vega Bajo.

In addition, the Environment Directorate and the Health Secretariat of the Municipality of San Luis del Palmar provided training on environmental care and healthy eating.

Community agents, Police, Firefighters, students and teachers from three schools, local hospital staff and the general public participated.

“The Program was formally presented in December of last year. Starting in January 2024 we are visiting different locations. We show the work we do and coordinate how we can articulate actions between the Province and the municipalities, from the Health and Environment area,” commented Vega Bajo.

He recalled that prior to these talks in the provincial interior, training on Eco Gardens and Composting has already been carried out in schools. For this, he thanked the Ministry of Education of the Province of Corrientes.

“By taking care of the environment, we avoid damage to the community’s health. We make people understand that human, animal and environmental health must have a more global and comprehensive approach,” he said, and added that “after the talk in San Luis, coordination was made to create green spots in the city’s squares.”
