The tolls on the La Plata-Buenos Aires Highway would increase above 150% if the increase proposal that AUBASA, the concessionaire of the route, presents at the next public hearing is successful.
As this newspaper was able to find out, AUBASA will propose taking the $1,000 that is currently paid for the entire section between La Plata and the City of Buenos Aires in non-peak hours to $2,600, while in peak hours it would go from $1,200 to $3,200. If the initiative is approved, the increase will be, in the case of vehicles up to 2.10 meters high, 160% and 166%, respectively.
If the breakdown is made by toll, at the Hudson and Dock Sud stations the fee would be $1,300 each in non-peak hours (currently the rate is $500) and $1,600 in peak hours (for now it is $600).
In this way, if the request for an increase that AUBASA representatives will take to the hearing on July 22 is successful, getting to and from CABA will jump from the current $2,000 to $5,200 (during non-peak hours) and from $2,400 to $6,400 (during peak hours).
In addition, those who get on the Highway in Villa Elisa heading to La Plata would pay $1,300 or $1,600, depending on the time of day, for a stretch of just over 8 kilometers.

In addition to presenting the proposal for an increase in tolls, the call presents the novelty that AUBASA will consider the new mechanism so that the value of tolls is updated every three months based on what it called the Tariff Variation Coefficient (CVT), formed based on the General Salary Index of the registered worker, the Internal Wholesale Price Index and the Consumer Price Index, all measured by INDEC.
AUBASA indicated that there is a mismatch between the prices of different items, such as operation, conservation, maintenance and support services, and the current indices established by contract, hence the proposal for a quarterly “rate adjustment” based on the CVT.
