The Tucumán Stable Ballet and the Official Ballet of Salta present together “Carmen”

For the first time in many years, the Ballet Stable of Tucumán and the Official Ballet of the Province of Salta will present together “Carmen”by Georges Bizet, this Saturday, June 29 at 9 p.m. and Sunday the 30th at 8 p.m. at the Teatro San Martín (Av. The show is carried out within the framework of a Federal Collaboration agreement agreed between the President of the Cultural Entity, Architect Humberto Salazar and the Secretary of Culture of Salta, Lic. Diego Ashur Mas, through the Institute of Music and Dance of that province , and which was promoted by the Director of the Ballet Estable, Melisa D’Amato. This strategic alliance has the purpose of strengthening the Norte Grande through joint productions with less investment of money, taking into account the delicate economic context of the country.

“Carmen”, the famous drama by Georges Bizet, for ballet, will be performed by the first dancers Leonardo Scarano and Natalia Elizabeth Ozuna Pankoe (Salta); and María Belén Serrano and Gastón Gutiérrez (Tucumán), with choreography by the outstanding Mtra. Laura Fiorucci and the participation of the entire cast of the Ballet Estable de Tucumán.

The dance group is made up of Daniela Reyes, Solana Burgos, Flavia Marcantonio, Valeria Hurtado, María José Frigeri, María Inés Yufra, María José Diez Gómez, Andrea Dilascio, Romina Lazarte, Constanza Iturre, Victoria Maisano, Agostina Chain, Sabrina Fresco, María Pía Álvarez Rojo, Camila Paoloni, Candela Soto, Oriana Oldani Getar, Fionna Viscido, Ricardo Contreras, Oscar Medina, Eduardo Jiménez, Rodrigo Reinoso, Franco Ríos, Facundo Basso, Salvador Arbeloa, Emiliano Núñez Campero and Maximiliano Díaz.

This production features the costumes of the Salta Provincial Ballet; the Direction Assistance is from Karina Macías and the General Direction from Melisa D’Amato.

“It is a premiere, a new staging that I have decided to do with the idea of ​​making it more similar to the history of the opera. “It has a lot of corps de ballet, a lot of ensemble dancing, with the music of Georges Bizet.”says teacher Fiorucci, about the version of Carmen that Tucumans will be able to enjoy this weekend.

In turn, the director of the Ballet Estable de Tucumán, Melisa D’Amato, acknowledged that it is a great joy to be able to present Carmen in the province thanks to this reciprocal collaboration agreement with Salta. “We are happy to be able to do this work that, as a ballet, has not been seen in the province of Tucumán for almost 20 years. It is an honor to have her here again,” she highlighted.

The teacher anticipated that the work addresses issues that are very important to address today, and that have to do with gender violence. “Romantic love, possession of love and also tragedy are present,” she commented.

About the Teachers

Prof. Melisa D’Amato – Director of the Stable Ballet of the Province of Tucumán

She trained as a Senior Dance Professor at ESEA; She has a degree in Educational Management. Between 2003 and 2006 she was a dancer with the Ballet Estable de Tucumán; and between 2006 and 2013 she was the principal soloist dancer of the Official Ballet of the Province of Salta. She was General Director of the NGO Fundación Alexander de Salta. She coordinated three Master Classes with Cecilia Kerche in Salta, with Paloma Herrera and with Marianela Núñez. She participated as a professional dancer on a tour of Brazil (Regina Pasis) and at the REIMS Conservatory in France. She was a teacher trainer of the stable Classical and Folkloric ballets of the Province of Salta; She is an international jury in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, of the Danscénica Competition. She actively participates in the training of professional dancers at FASES Danza, an institution dedicated to the promotion and projection of dance in Bolivia.

Prof. Laura Fiorucci – Director of the Official Ballet of Salta

She is a Venezuelan ballet teacher and choreographer, assembly director of the Vicente Nebrada Foundation; former artistic director of the Official Ballet of the Province of Córdoba (Argentina); creator of the independent project Ballet Inmigrante de Buenos Aires and artistic advisor of Baires Sur Ballet. In 2023 she won her current position as director of the Salta Ballet through a competition.
