A guarantee control judge imposed a security measure in a prison facility on Jorge Armando Batalla Tolosa, known by the alias ‘Jorgito’, who would be one of the members of the Alfonso Cano Western Bloc of the FARC dissidents, which operates in the department of Nariño.

During the hearing, the Attorney General’s Office accused him of his responsibility in the crime of two people, which occurred on August 6, 2023, in a home in the municipality of Tumaco. According to the investigative entity, alias ‘Jorgito’ arrived at the residence in the company of two other members of the illegal armed group, where he repeatedly shot a woman, who died at the scene.

In the middle of the incident, a woman who was passing through the sector was also hit by one of the shots, and was taken to a medical center in the municipality, but died due to the severity of her injuries. Due to these events, officials from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), together with agents from the Sijín of the National Police and soldiers from the Military Gaula, captured Batalla Tolosa when they were moving through a sector of the Obrero neighborhood.

According to the Police report, Batalla Tolosa would have been committing crimes in the Unión Vivienda, Obrero and Los Ángeles neighborhoods of Comuna 5 in the south of Tumaco, where they would carry out selective homicides, extortion of organized commerce and trafficking and possession of narcotics.

The subject was charged with the crime of aggravated homicide and aggravated manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, charges that were not accepted by alias ‘Jorgito’ at the court hearing.
