During the early morning hours Two earthquakes were recorded in Colombiaaccording to the latest reports from the Colombian Geological Service (SGC) this Thursday, June 27.
The first of these telluric movements, with its epicenter in Los Santos, in the department of Santanderoccurred at 2:36 AM and had a magnitude of 3.1, at a depth greater than 140 kilometers.
According to the SGC, the Los Santos earthquake was located at a latitude of 7.03° and longitude of -72.96°.

An hour later, at 3:34 AM, a second earthquake with an epicenter in Piedecuesta, Santander, near Bucaramanga and a magnitude of 2.8 was felt in the region. This last event was superficial, being recorded at a depth of less than 30 kilometers.
The region of The Saints is known for its high seismic activity, being one of the most prone areas to these phenomena in Colombia.

Approximately 60% of seismicity that is recorded in the national territory occurs in the department of Santander, according to the University of Santander – UDES, which operates under an agreement the Seismological Observatory of Northeast Colombia.
