Engie Chile achieved an important achievement in O’Higgins by receiving a favorable Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) for its first electrical transmission project Totihue Sectioning Substation.

The project, located in the commune of Rengo, is Engie Chile’s first electric transmission project in the region, and its approval was granted after a unanimous vote by the Environmental Assessment Commission (Coeva) on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) submitted by the company.

The initiative includes the construction of a new sectioning substation, by sectioning the 2×220 kV line Candelaria-Black Bridge. At the same time, it considers the installation of a new 66 kV double-circuit transmission line, between the Rosario substation (Property of CGE Transmisiones SA) and the new Seccionadora Totihue substation.

“We are very happy with the approval of this project, which marks a milestone in our portfolio as it is the first that we will carry out as a company in the O’Higgins region. This initiative will strengthen the electrical infrastructure and, at the same time, provide security to customers in the commune of Rengo and surrounding areas,” said the director of the GBU Networks Andes – Chile and Peru of Engie. Demian Talavera Managing.
