The Provincial Department of Animal Health in Pinar del Río calls on all doctors in Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics in the territory to make the annotation or update of the personal data that make up the primary database for Administrative Control, as part of the implementation of the policy to improve animal health in the country.
According to a press release issued by the entity, the process is part of what is endorsed in Resolution 537 of 2020, article 254.1, which establishes that the doctor in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics, professionally linked to the Health System Animal, regardless of the specialty it performs and the organization or entity to which it belongs, is subject to registration in the Administrative Control created and guarded by the competent authority.
Likewise, Article 254.2 states that, in order to practice the profession linked to the Animal Health System, it is essential to be registered in that database.
Therefore, if this were not the case, Decree 20 of September 3, 2020 would apply, which establishes in its fifth article that it is a contravention to practice the profession of Veterinary Medicine without being registered in that registry and establish employment relationship to carry out activities of the veterinary doctor with a person who is not included in it.
As explained by Dr. Maricel Fernández Cabrera, head of the Provincial Department of Animal Health, the deadline for registration is until next September and includes all graduates of the aforementioned careers, even if they are retired or housewives.
He also clarified that those who practice the profession on their own or in non-state clinics must also attend and that the Registry will be updated every year in order to include new professionals who graduate from the university.
Registration must be carried out at the headquarters of the municipality of residence, even if you do not work there. To settle in the books, they will present an identity card and the original title that accredits them as doctors in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary and Zootechnics.
He added that the act of annotation is personal and non-transferable, so no person is authorized to register the data of another, since it concludes with the signature of the veterinarian who is registering.
