These favorable results were achieved thanks to the coordination of the local Mayor’s Office, headed by Yahir Acuña, who worked together with the Public Force, Prosecutor’s Office, Judiciary and citizens in order to carry out operations, patrols and even community support that would allow the capture of both the leaders and hitmen of criminal gangs.

Furthermore, it gave way to the creation of the ‘Search Block against Multicrime’, where highly trained officials dealt decisive blows to groups outside the law; Likewise, an entire strategy was launched to keep the city illuminated, put 700 security cameras in operation and provide new opportunities to young people who are at risk of falling into crime.

With all practices, Sincelejo is currently one of the safest cities in the country, becoming a reference for governors and mayors of different national territories.
