With the purpose of articulating actions that allow the development of the San Pedro festivities in Ibagué with complete tranquility and order, the governor of Tolima, Adriana Magali Matiz, asked her government team for full commitment and support to guarantee order in the parade; For this reason, together with the Municipal Mayor’s Office and the Metropolitan Police, they held an evaluation meeting of the San Juan Parade to review improvement actions and work together to have a successful parade next weekend in the Musical Capital of Colombia.

This was confirmed by Guillermo Alvira, Secretary of Citizen Coexistence, Security and Public Order: “We want to send a message to all the people of Tolima and Ibagué that we are working hand in hand with the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué in these folkloric festivities, two united women who want to guarantee the security of Tolima and the security of Ibagué.”

The 36 blocks of the parade route will be accompanied by logistics personnel, the National Police, the Government of Tolima and the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué, in total coordination, so that the festivities can be enjoyed in an orderly and peaceful manner.

Edward Amaya, Secretary of Government of Ibagué, said: “We made an evaluation of the San Juan parade held last Sunday, looking at opportunities for improvement; in order to maintain all the operations that were carried out in the San Juan Parade; the governor and the mayor want to continue demonstrating to the department and the Capital City this joint work and this was evidenced both in the parade that already passed and in the parade next Sunday.”
