Senate of the Republic pays tribute to Francisco González Bocanegra from Potosí – La Jornada San Luis

As part of the initiative promoted by Senator Graciela Gaitán Díaz to recognize the contribution of Francisco González Bocanegra from San Luis Potosí to the country, this Thursday the Senate of the Republic paid tribute to the native of San Luis Potosí, author of the Mexican National Anthem, by inscribing his name on the Wall of Honor of the building.

During the emotional ceremony, the heads of the Secretariats of Culture (Secult) and Education of the State Government (SEGE), Mario García Valdez and Juan Carlos Torres Cedillo, respectively, highlighted to hundreds of students the important work carried out by the State Government headed by Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, to promote culture in all areas, such as education.

The Secretary of Culture, Mario García Valdez, invited those present to let the spirit of Francisco González Bocanegra on the Wall of Honor inspire them to “continue to build together agreements in favor of Mexicans, as well as a future full of peace, harmony and fraternity”.

For her part, the Senator recalled the life and work of the prominent Potosí native, “who with his words managed to move hearts and unite the Mexican people in a single song of hope and pride.”
