In a ceremony held on June 23 at the San José de la Concha Educational Institution, twenty farmers from the San José de la Concha village, located in the mountains of Córdoba, were certified by SENA in various areas of knowledge. This achievement is the result of the CampeSENA and Labor Skills strategies, designed to strengthen the capacities of rural communities. The certification areas included systems, guadua structures, footprint plate construction, livestock and minor species, and community projects.

The impact on the community was reflected in the improvement of infrastructure, with the construction of a warehouse with a bamboo structure and the adaptation of 90 linear meters of tread tape on the tertiary road. In addition, a significant development of practical skills was observed among the participants. Abel Criollo Mosquera, local farmer, highlighted the importance of these teachings to improve agricultural and communal productivity.

The program also promoted community empowerment, as expressed by María Botina Rodríguez, who highlighted the unity and contribution of women to local development. In addition, mobility and local commerce were improved, as pointed out by Mosquera, who valued the positive impact on the local economy through the improvement of access roads.

The certificates received were valued as recognition and motivation for the inhabitants. Raúl Villamil Blandón, community leader, stressed the importance of these achievements as a symbol of the community’s desire for progress.

Since its inception in October 2023, the training has generated positive impacts in the rural community, evidenced by the gratitude expressed towards SENA for its continued support and focus on rural development. The community of San José de la Concha is now preparing to begin new trainings, highlighting its commitment to continued growth and development.

This program exemplifies how technical education and institutional support can transform rural communities, strengthening not only the individual skills of participants, but also improving infrastructure and fostering social cohesion in the region.
