Venezuelan wanted by Interpol for sexual abuse of a child arrested in Santander

The Santander Police captured a Venezuelan citizen in the town of Berlin, municipality of Tona, Santander. He had a valid court order and a blue Interpol circular for sexual abuse against a minor under 15 years of age, but who according to the process had been a victim since she was 11 years old.

The migrant, 36 years old, He was traveling in a public service vehicle on the road that leads from the town of Berlin to Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, when he was captured.

“This person is required by the Second Municipal Criminal Court, with guarantee control functions of the city of Cúcuta – Norte de Santander, this office, faced with the seriousness of the events, issued a blue Interpol circular for the location and capture of this foreigner,” confirmed Colonel Carlos Fuelágan, commander of the Santander Police.

The events for which the foreigner was sought occurred from 2019 to 2023 since the minor, her adopted daughter, was 11 years old.

“The captured man was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority and placed under a preventive measure with intramural detention. The National Police invites the Santander community to continue reporting any incident that threatens the rights of children and adolescents, as well as citizen coexistence and security, through the emergency line 123,” said the officer.

The aggressor will have to answer for the crime of sexual abuse against a minor under 14 years of age.
