The government sent two Hercules planes with food and assistance to Santa Cruz and Chubut

The national government, through coordinated work between the Vice Chief of the Interior Cabinet and the Ministries of Defense and Human Capital, deployed a Hercules C-130 aircraft to Santa Cruz, within the framework of the most serious storm in the last 60 years. The aircraft that departed this Friday from El Palomar transports food and blankets, to provide assistance in the face of low temperatures.

The Vice Chief of Cabinet of the Interior, Lisandro Catalán, the Ministers of Defense and Human Capital, Luis Petri and Sandra Pettovello, and the Governor of the province, Claudio Vidal, were present during the loading, accompanied by authorities from the Air Force and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This flight is in addition to the one sent days ago to Chubut, with a similar load; as well as the trucks sent to Neuquén and Río Negro with coats, slippers, blankets and rolls of nylon. In this way, the national government is intensifying its efforts to assist the regions affected by heavy snowfall and extreme cold.

Likewise, in line with the government’s policy of sending assistance during emergencies, the Vice Chief of Staff of the Interior approved two National Treasury Contributions (ATNs) for the provinces of Santa Cruz and Chubut, for three billion pesos each. The ministry also coordinated a winter assistance and maintenance operation of national and provincial routes in both jurisdictions, to guarantee traffic safety, connection and supply to the main towns.
