One of the most beloved science fiction sagas of all time returns to the big screen with ‘Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom’a film that continues the events that occurred in the trilogy starring Andy Serkis.

Although the story of ‘Caesar’ had closed with ‘Planet of the Apes: War’, 20th Century Studios decided to bet on a new story that respects the events that occurred in the previous installments but that expands the universe that began with the legendary 1968 film.

“Many years after the reign of ‘Caesar’, a young ape embarks on a journey that will lead him to question everything he has been taught about the past and make decisions that will define the future for both apes and humans,” explains the official synopsis of the film.

The advances of ‘Planet Of The Apes: New Kingdom’ has excited fans and many are wondering who are the actors who play the apes in this new installment.

It should be remembered that this film does not use makeup for the actors who play the apes, but rather they use a technique called motion capture (Motion Capture) which consists of an actor wearing a special suit with sensors throughout your body.

The actor’s movements and expressions are captured on a computer and the VFX and animation artists They create the characters digitally based on genuine performances.

This revolutionary technique was used for the first time in ‘Gollum’ from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and has been used in numerous productions such as James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’.

Owen Teague

This American actor plays ‘Not‘, a young chimpanzee who begins to feel empathy for a human that can speak.

Although Teague is not well known internationally, he has already participated in major productions such as ‘It’.

Kevin Durand

The actor gives life to ‘Proximus Caesar’, a powerful chimpanzee who leads a clan of apes seeking human technology.

Durand has extensive experience on screen, having participated as a supporting actor in films such as ‘Noé’ and was ‘Harbard’ in ‘Vikings’.

Peter Macon

The American actor plays ‘Raka‘, a wise orangutan who joins ‘Noa’ in his search for the truth about humans.

The cast is completed by Freya Allan as ‘Mae’, William H. Macy, Travis Jeffery and Lydia Peckham, according to the official IMDB report.
