Rey Skywalker will return to the big screen with a film that will explore what happened to the galaxy after Star Wars IX
Although there is still a long way to go before its return to theaters, Star Wars continues to prepare its next feature films slowly but surely, in the hope of surprising at least the most loyal fans of the franchise. One of them will be the one focused on Rey Skywalker, starring Daisy Ridleywhich will explore what happened to the character after the events of the ninth installment.
Ridley’s return was one of the most notable announcements of this new generation of films. Although she has generated some division since her announcement, the British actress explained in an interview with the American media Empire why she decided to return to the franchise.
“Why wouldn’t I? Yes, they have caused division, but they have also brought a lot of love and joy to a lot of people. It’s incredible to be able to continue with a character… do I remember how to play her? It’s an interesting challenge as an actor to go back to something and try to figure out what has changed for me and what has changed for her.
Ridley’s return to this role is due to two clear reasons: firstly, he wanted to please fans of his character, who had been waiting for his return for quite some time and wanted to know what was in store for him after the end of Star Wars IX; Secondly, Daisy herself wanted to return to one of her first roles to see how she has evolved as an actress and, above all, to give Rey a new twist after his time in the last trilogy.
It is clear that the British is eager to return to the ring, and assured in the same interview that “it was not a difficult decision”, so let’s hope that her return to the franchise is triumphant with a film that offers more information about the future of a of the most successful sagas in popular culture.
