The American band Slipknot confirmed the identity of their new drummer to replace Jay Weinberg, who left in 2023.

The Iowa group published a new promotional photo of its nine members in their classic red jumpsuits and masks, and indicated that their new drummer is Eloy Casagrandeformer member of the Brazilians Sepultura.

Casagrande made his debut with the band last week during a surprise intimate show at a venue in California. And it will be part, among other dates, of its Knotfest festival that revealed its lineup days ago.

Who is Eloy Casagrande?

Casagrande was born in Sao Paulo and he is 33 years old. He started playing at the age of seven and at age 13, he was the winner of the Batuka International Drummer Fest, sponsored by Vera Figueiredo.

The musician joined Sepultura in November 2011, replacing Jean Dolabella. He recorded the albums “Machine Messiah” in 2017, “Quadra” in 2020, and “SepulQuarta” in 2021. Last February his departure from the band was announced..

Casagrande was also with Andre Matos and the post-hardcore/metalcore band Gloryand also has a project called Casagrande & Hanysz with guitarist João Hansyz.
