DanzAbril, beyond the stage movement

DanzAbril, a day in which stage movement is a source of inspiration, will be held in Bayamo, from the 26th to the 29th of this month, aimed at promoting the work of professional and amateur dance groups from Granma.

There will be parades in different spaces along the General García promenade in Bayamo, presentations by students from the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Professional Art School, theoretical meetings and workshops, and shared experiences about folklore and creation, in alternative spaces.

In this context, the Vivencias expo will be inaugurated, for the 15 years since the Bienandanza Company was founded, directed by Yordany Batista Barea, born, as a sociocultural project of the performing arts, in 2009.

The catalog includes the premiere of the show Raíces y Tradiciones, by the Granma Folkloric Ballet, under the artistic and general direction of Martha Arelis González Paneque and the choreography of Juan Teodoro Florentino.

There will be recognitions for choreographers, artistic directors and performers, in the female and male categories, and the inclusion, in marble letters, of the Founding Father of Modern Dance in Cuba, Ramiro Guerra, placed on the mural of personalities at the Bayamo Theater , headquarters of night activities.

DanzAbril also aims to disseminate and promote the aesthetic lines of the artistic specialty and incorporate the work of Casas de Cultura in favor of the specialty.

The Day culminates on Sunday the 29th, International Dance Day, with the presentation of awards to dance groups and outstanding performers, an opportunity to also highlight the work of the Bienandanza Contemporary Dance Company, which reaches its fifteenth anniversary of its founding.
