After the Government announced the closure of 40% of automotive registries, the sector’s union announced a cessation of activities that will begin this Monday morning in all registries in the country.

“By virtue of what was publicly stated, concerning the closure of a percentage of RR.SS (Sectional Registries), the registry workers communicate that, given the circumstances that threaten our source of employment and consequently the RR.SS that provide it to us, we have decided the cessation of registration activities until the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights calls our managers to dialogue“, reads the statement published by the “organized registry workers.”

“There will be no funds to collect. The measure covers all Sectional Registries and their registry workers,” reads the statement published by the “organized registry workers.”

The force measure will come into effect on May 6 at 8:30. The workers’ group indicated that it will continue until the Government sits down to talk to them.

In that sense, they added in their statement: “We are absolutely sure that the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will ensure and respond to the legal security of citizens’ registration until it is in a position to engage in dialogue with our managers.”

The cessation of activities in response to the announcement made by the Ministry of Justice this Thursday. “40% of the Automotive Registries will be closed, starting with those that have been intervened for more than 2 years, and then the remaining intervened ones will be closed,” indicated the portfolio headed by Mariano Cúneo Libarona.

The Ministry of Justice reported that the determination was made after receiving the “result of the first stage of the audit carried out in the National Directorate of Automotive Registration and Pledge Credits (DNRPA) and with the objective of reducing costs and eliminating procedures bureaucratic”.

In addition, the Government indicated that “30% of the staff of the Automotive Registration Directorate will be reduced, within the framework of a voluntary retirement and early retirement plan.”

In parallel, the Executive spread a series of new regulations: the elimination of the blue card, the elimination of the expiration of the green card, the digitization of the files, the liberalization of the purchase of inputs (until now only through the House of the Currency) and changes in the declaration of funds to declare before the purchase of a vehicle.

Already in recent weeks it had been announced that the Automotive Transfer Certificate (CETA), “which obliged citizens to report the sale of their vehicle to the AFIP,” will no longer be valid.

And regarding the future of automotive registries, they announced that a “transparent competition regime” will be implemented. The objective is, according to the Ministry of Justice, “to prevent the hiring of people who have held political positions during the last 10 years, their family members and those people who do not meet the requirements of suitability and experience in private activity to fulfill such a function.” .
