Havana. — The three Cuban teams attending the World Athletics Relay Championship will debut this Saturday in that event, based in the Bahamas until tomorrow and which will distribute tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, ACN reported.

For Cuba, the first to run will be the members of the 4×100 meters (m) quartet, who will be in the fourth heat seeking to advance to the final, and the test will begin at 7:53 pm local time.

After 20:27 pm it will be the men’s 4×100 m race, who also appear in heat 4, according to the official World Athletics website.

The last to debut after 9:01 p.m. will be the women of the 4×400 m in the second heat, and they will have the difficult task of defending the title won in the Silesia 2021 edition.

That team is made up of Roxana Gómez, Rose Mary Almanza and Lisneidy Veitía, champions three years ago, and Dayli Cooper, Melissa Padrón and Camila Rodríguez join the team.

Laura Moreira, Jocelyn Echazabal, Yarima García, Enis Magda Pérez, Greysi Robles and Yunisleydis García, winners of the gold medal in the 4×100 m modality at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023, will also compete for the Caribbean nation.

In that same specialty, but among the men, the team includes Reinaldo Espinosa, Edel Amores, Yaniel Carrero, Aniel López and Shainer Reginfo, silver medalists in the Chilean capital.

The classification system establishes that the eight finalist teams will secure their places in the competition under the five rings in Paris; while the relays that do not enter that race will return to the track to compete among themselves for another six tickets.

In Silesia 2021, the Cubans in the 4×400 m won the gold medal with a time of 3:28.41 minutes.
