As a tool to “involve more young people in the search for solutions to the problems that the country has” and, also, as an opportunity to “channel concerns, preferences and express their desires to do for the good of the Homeland,” defined Frank Monterrey Padrón, president of the Youth Technical Brigades (BTJ), the work agreements that this Wednesday the youth scientific movement signed with more than 30 organizations of the Central State Administration (OACE).

During the signing ceremony at the José Martí Memorial, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh, and Meyvis Estévez Echevarría, first secretary of the National Committee of the UJC, it was highlighted that this instrument will also help find spaces for recognition to new generations so that their projects are visualized.

Monterrey Padrón recalled how the country’s leadership has asked the new generations to deploy their efforts to multiply ideas around productive growth, social transformation, the search for solutions and everything that contributes to the fulfillment of the National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.

In this sense, he pointed out that “we young people have grown up with the possibility of contributing and growing for Cuba” and, therefore, they must become the new paradigms of science, creation and innovation in the country. «We can be the heroes of the transformation that Fidel asked of us. Let’s make a Cuba always young from our contribution.

As the main lines of action for the next two years, the signatories highlighted aspects that constitute great challenges for the advancement of the nation: food production, computerization and automation of society, renewable energy, water, industry, aging population, the environment and climate change.

Ministers, vice ministers, directors, presidents, vice presidents and officials of the OACE and national organizations and associations, were at an event where it was highlighted that next December it will be 60 years since the main scientist and creator of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, founded the BTJ to help the economic and social development of the country from various branches.

In this regard, the President of the BTJ recognized that it is time for this movement to assume a contextualized responsibility for that purpose and for the agreements to also guide the celebration of the 18th. Forgers of the Future Exhibition, which is already taking place in work and student centers.
