According to official sources, of that figure, 247 million dollars came from 29 newly registered projects, while the remaining amount came from 19 capital complementation programs.
As of May, Hai Phong attracted a total of 556 FDI projects worth more than US$26.72 billion.
Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA) head Le Trung Kien attributed the city’s success to its diversified and flexible approach to attracting investment, with a focus on actively promoting investment opportunities in the country and abroad, along with the development of infrastructure in industrial parks and economic zones.
He highlighted the impressive 65% occupancy rate currently achieved in industrial zones, with an average investment density of about 12 million dollars per hectare.
Looking to the future, he revealed the establishment of a new coastal economic zone in the southern area of Hai Phong, planned as the second most important after the Dinh Vu – Cat Hai established in 2008. Such an area will cover approximately 20 thousand hectares in the districts by Do Son, Kien Thuy, An Lao, Tien Lang and Vinh Bao.
Such a space is planned to be a multi-sector and ecologically conscious economic zone focused on high-tech industries, modern logistics./.
