RCR, May 9, 2025.- So far there are 12 deceased people, so far from 2025, which contracted yellow fever, in different regions of the country, alerted the Concertación Table to fight poverty (MCLCP). According to the non -governmental organization, 35 cases have also been reported with patients with yellow fever that is transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti Zancudo.
The MCLCP said that the regions where these cases have been presented are Amazonas, Huánuco, Junín, Loreto and San Martín, Amazonas being the most vulnerable especially in rural areas. In this regard, Wendy Albán Márquez, coordinator of the social and Health dimension of the MCLCP asked the health sector authorities to take prevention measures due to the increase in cases.
He also urged the authorities to give importance to the vaccination process to prevent the disease. He mentioned that of the cases presented with yellow fever, 72% were not vaccinated.
-Difficulties in vaccination
Albán said that although the Ministry of Health has managed to take vaccines to urban areas, in rural areas there are vaccination difficulties due to access. “There is a great difficulty of arrival, above all, on the one hand, for the budgetary issue, because you have to move with the equipment to the areas of the jungle, which is a river transfer, which is high cost,” he said.
The representative of the MCLCP recommended that the Government give priority to these cases and demanded that the Ministries of Health, Economics and Culture, rapid actions to control the situation and also avoid dengue outbreak, chikungunya, and other diseases that affect the rural population.
