Sports editorial, Jan 26 (EFE).- The Swedish Handball Federation presented a claim to the European Federation (EHF) at the conclusion of the European Championship semi-final in Germany that pitted the Scandinavian team against France this Friday, as reported by the EHF.
“The European Handball Federation confirms having received a protest from the Swedish Handball Federation following the France-Sweden semi-final of the EHF Euro 2024. This protest is being dealt with and any updates will be communicated accordingly,” the European Federation noted via social networks.
Although the EHF does not specify the reason for the protest, everything suggests that the Swedish Federation’s complaint is due to the non-use of video images to verify the validity or not of Elohim Prandi’s final goal that led to the match to extra time.
An action highly protested by the Swedish players who consider that Prandi did not have his foot on the ground, as required by the regulations, in the final free-throw shot that allowed France to equalize the contest.
“I don’t know why they have that VAR screen if they don’t even use it. There are three situations at the end and they don’t review a single one. It seems like a scandal to me,” said full-back Jonathan Carlsbogard, a Barça player, after the match, according to the press. swedish
