The 77th edition of the Tour de Romandie advances. This Friday, one day before the queen stage, An individual time trial of 15.5 kilometers was run, starting and finishing in the town of Oron and the big winner of the day was the UAE Team Emirates, as two of its riders led the classifications at the end of the day.
American Brandon McNulty won the time trial with a time of 20:06; while the Spanish Juan Ayuso, fourth in the stage, went on to lead the general classification. It was a journey that represented difficulties, especially in the initial part, very leg-breaking and with small climbs that could make a difference. The rain hurt the favorites in the last hour of the competition.
The podium of the third fraction was completed by Magnus Sheffield, from Ineos, and Felix Großschartner, also from the UAE. ANDThe best Colombian was Harold Tejada (Astana), who stopped the clock 46 seconds behind McNulty’s record and occupied box 17 of the stage.
Egan Bernal, who was the best of our team in the general classification, lost time in the time trial.
