PHILADELPHIA — Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto each hit solo homers, while Panama’s Edmundo Sosa contributed a three-run shot, as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Texas Rangers 11-4 on Wednesday.

Realmuto extended his hitting streak to 12 games and added three RBIs, while Alec Bohm had a two-run double in the sixth inning for Philadelphia, which has had the best start to a season in franchise history after 50 games.

Realmuto’s two-corner hit made the score 10-3 and left him with 46 RBIs, the best statistic in the National League.

The Phillies, who already had the most outstanding record in the majors, stood at 36-14. They are only the 26th club in the history of the National to reach at least 36 victories in the first 50 games.

In 1998, Atlanta was the last team to get off to such a hot start. Only 17 teams in American League history have reached that mark. The last was the Seattle Mariners, in 2001, when they totaled 116 wins.

Matt Strahm (3-0) covered 1 1/3 scoreless innings to take the win in relief.

For the Rangers, Cuban Adolis García 4-1. Dominican Leody Taveras was 1-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.

For the Phillies, Panamanian Sosa was 1-for-4 with one run scored and three RBIs. Dominican Johan Rojas was 0 for 4 with one run scored.
