ATLANTA — Braves rookie Spencer Schwellenbach made his best start, and Ozzie Albies had a key hit for the second straight game as Atlanta beat the Detroit Tigers, 2-1, on Tuesday.

The Braves beat the Tigers by the same score on Monday in the series opener.

Schwellenbach (1-2) got his best start since being promoted on May 29. He allowed one run and three hits in six innings. He struck out seven batters, walked two and hit two batters in his fourth career start.

Cuban closer Raisel Iglesias got his 18th save in 20 opportunities after scoreless innings prepared by Pierce Johnson and Puerto Rican Joe Jiménez.

Albies, who hit a tiebreaking home run on Monday, went 1 for 4 with an RBI triple and scored a run in the Braves’ fifth win in their most recent six games.

Tigers starter Casey Mize (1-5) lasted four innings. He battled through a tough first inning and allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

For the Braves, Dominican Marcell Ozuna went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

For the Tigers, Colombian Gio Urshela went 1 for 4 with one RBI.
