SAN DIEGO (AP) — Jake Cronenworth homered, set a career-high five hits, including the go-ahead single in the seventh inning, and scored four times as the San Diego Padres defeated the Padres on Friday, Nov. 9. -5 to the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Padres, who achieved their third straight victory. They were without star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. and left fielder Jurickson Profar due to injuries. They made four mistakes.
Dominican Tatis left the game two innings after suffering pain in the triceps of his left arm after he was hit in the left elbow by a pitch from his former teammate in San Diego, pitcher Colin Rea, with two out in the third inning .
Tatis knelt with a wince and was examined by the medical team. He ran the bases and took over in right field for the next two innings. When it was his turn to bat again in the fifth, he was replaced by pinch-hitter Tyler Wade.
Tatis hit a 446-foot home run Thursday night in a 7-6 win.
Profar exited after hitting a double in the seventh. He has been suffering from tendinitis in his left knee for several weeks.
Stephen Kolek (1-0) was the winner and Dominican Enyel De Los Santos retired the last five outs for his first save.
For the Brewers, the Dominicans Willy Adames hit 2 for 5, Gary Sánchez 1 for 1. Venezuelans William Contreras 1-5 with one run scored and one RBI, Jackson Chourio 1-3 with one run scored.
For the Padres, Dominican Manny Machado went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI. Venezuelans Luis Arráez 5-1 with one run scored and two RBIs, José Azocar 1-0 with one run scored. Colombian Donovan Solano was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
