Tiago Pernía rounded off a perfect weekend, in which he won the two finals of the fifth TC2000 date of the year, which took place in San Juan. Bernardo Llaver (Honda) and Leonel Pernía (Renault) completed the podium.

Pernía, who had won the first final at El Villicum yesterday, dominated today’s race from start to finish and withstood the attack of Berni Llaver, who passed him on the last lap, but immediately regained the first position.

After the victory, Pernía analyzed: “I managed to defend myself well at the start. I thought Berni (Llaver) had no more, but he tried on the last lap and made a maneuver that I was able to counteract very well.” Visibly moved, the 22-year-old who won his fourth race of the year explained: “It was terrible because what I am experiencing is not easy at all. I still haven’t fallen, yesterday I won the race and I left thinking about today’s race.”

The runner-up of the race, Bernardo Llaver, regretted the maneuver on the last lap in which he could not get the lead: “I went a little overboard, but I want to highlight Tiago. He is a robot, he was waiting for his mistake and it never happened.”

Finally, the championship leader, Leonel Pernía, highlighted “the race that Berni and Tiago made”, although he was not entirely satisfied with the result: “We did not meet the objective of staying ahead of Berni, who is approaching us in the championship.”
