The Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED 4K HDR Google TV has been unveiled. The TV is part of the company’s 2024 lineup, which also includes the flagship BRAVIA 9, BRAVIA 7, and BRAVIA 3 (US only). The BRAVIA 8 comes in 55″, 65″ and 77″ sizes and follows last year’s A80L model.
The BRAVIA 8 is said to be 10% brighter than its predecessor and has a slimmer body and bezels. The television incorporates the new Prime Video calibrated mode, which joins the equivalent tools from Netflix and Sony Pictures Core to optimize the television settings for this type of content. For gamers, there is support for Dolby Vision, VRR and ALLM. However, like previous models, the TV only has two HDMI 2.1 ports. Other features of the product include built-in 2.1-channel speakers and compatibility with Google Assistant and Apple AirPlay 2.
The Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED 4K HDR Google TV is now available for pre-order in some European countries such as the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, where the 55″ model is priced at €2,099.00/£2,199.00. The company has suggested that these customers can expect the TV to ship between June 24 and July 8. Pricing for North America has also been confirmed, starting at $1,999.99/CA$2,499.99, although a release date is unknown.
