Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, a chip that introduces enhanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) functionalities and supports photography with lenses up to 108 megapixels.
The technology company has stressed that this processor, manufactured with a 6 nanometer (nm) process, “unlocks improved performance” and that it is designed “to exceed the expectations” of users, according to a document published on its website.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 a chip powered by an Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU) and a Kryo central processing unit (CPU) with a 64-bit architecture and a speed of 2.3 GHz, according to its specifications.
This new processor is capable of supporting a maximum FHD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,520) and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and supporting LPDDR4x type memory that reaches a speed of 2133MHz during operation.
It also includes performance-enhancing technologies such as Qualcomm Signal Boost, Smart Transmit or PowerSave, as well as Sensing Hub, which allows you to recognize usage routines to maximize productivity.
In the camera section, Qualcomm has indicated that this chip, with a Spectra image signal processor, supports photography with a lens of up to 108 megapixels and video playback of 1,080 pixels at 60 frames per second (FPS).
In addition, regarding audio-related features, the brand has commented that this new chip can also boost Qualcomm Aqstic and apX audio technologies.
As far as security is concerned, the processor supports Qualcomm’s 3D fingerprint sensor and facial biometric authentication. And at the connectivity level, it incorporates a Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 system, 5G connectivity and WiFi 4, WiFi 5 versions. It also supports Bluetooth 5.2 and comes with Qualcomm TrueWireless technology.
Qualcomm has also highlighted that this chip debuts with a dedicated AI Engine to offer “smarter and more intuitive” experiences, such as voice recognition and smart camera functions.
