In collaboration with sneaker designer Roel van Hoff, Elitac Wearables, Cheil Benelux and Brut Amsterdam, Samsung has released the “sneaker of the future”, the so-called Shortcut Sneaker, which allows you to control the phone with the movements of your foot.

Samsung Shortcut Sneakers: the sneakers that can control your phone

The shoes allow different movements to launch different actions on a phone. They have motion sensors in the sole that track your relative position. When a certain movement is activated, it sends the signal to the phone to perform an action.

These sensors track relative position and allow you to trigger actions on your smartphone. The Shortcut Sneaker can have up to five shortcuts that can be executed with five unique foot movements. There are no details on whether there are restrictions on which actions these five unique moves can be assigned to.

Roel van Hoff designed the look of the shoes, which are inspired by the Milky Way. The company has made all six pairs exclusive to Samsung Members fans in the Netherlands. For Samsung members in the Netherlands, the giveaway will last until July 9, 2024.
