The American technology company continues working to add accessibility functions to its services, so that users can obtain a better experience, in this case, when browsing web pages and being able to listen to their content, similar to a podcast or a song.
In this regard, Google has launched a new ‘Listen to this page’ feature in the Chrome browser for Android devices, so that users can access the content of the web page in a read-aloud mode.
Likewise, this feature also includes controls to play, pause, rewind or fast forward through the text of the web page, as Google has detailed on its help page. In the same way, users will also be able to choose to change the playback speed or select between different types of voice, as well as activate a text highlighting and automatic scrolling option to continue reading.
Specifically, this function allows you to read content in up to twelve languages, such as Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Bengali and Hindi.
Likewise, as pointed out by 9to5Google, which has had access to this option, it allows you to choose between the voice ‘Ruby’, which has a medium and warm tone; ‘River’, with a medium and calm tone; ‘Field’, with a low and bright tone; and ‘Moss’, which offers a low and peaceful tone.
According to this medium, when you activate the function, a player appears at the bottom of the page, which includes a progress bar and play and pause buttons, as well as a close button, and two forward or backward ten buttons. seconds.
