A good part of the difficulties of being a regular with this program to move around the Internet based on privacy is that it is not based on the aforementioned Chromium. Hence precisely, being a minority, and also direct competition from the most used browser by far, we can encounter quite serious problems.

And not only that, since on many occasions we also receive a multitude of messages that encourage us to install and use Chrome instead of the Mozilla program. Furthermore, on more occasions than we would like, we encounter some malfunctions in certain online services and platforms that should work perfectly.

A fairly clear example of all this can also be found, for some time now, on the video streaming website owned by Google, Youtube. And for some time now we have been encountering problems in the video playback if we use Firefox. This is an increasingly widespread failure and the truth is that the browser itself is not to blame. For some time now, many Firefox users have noticed playback problems on YouTube. At first this only affected the high resolution videosstarting at 1080p.

At the same time, and to make matters worse, no clear pattern could be identified. Some videos played fine, while others stopped abruptly when they ran out of buffer, which is a major annoyance.

The problem is with YouTube, not Firefox

Saying that the problem only affects Firefox, not Chromium-based browsers. At this point, many of you may think that the culprit behind these blocks and cuts in video playback is Firefox itself, but in reality that is not the case.

And a series of tests and investigations carried out recently point to YouTube as the culprit of all this. And after months of investigating the problem, Mozilla has found a solution. This will be published in the version of Firefox 127.0.2 at the end of this month. Of course, it has taken longer than expected, since it was difficult to identify the problem as such.

According to Alastor Wu, a Mozilla engineer, the problem is due to the YouTube service and not the program to move around the Internet. Specifically, the failure is caused by a YouTube component, something that incidentally also affects older versions of Firefox. What is still not very clear is whether Google introduced this problem to YouTube deliberately, or it was simply an accident.

Affected users could have blamed Firefox of the problem, and some may even have switched to a Chromium-based browser, since these worked without any problem. However, now it is worth knowing that there are only a few days left for Mozilla to solve the problem of the playing videos on YouTube with Firefox.
