Google will remove support for Stack: PDF Scanner, an application that is used to scan documents in this file format and whose functionality has been incorporated into Google Drive.

Stack was born in Area 120, a project incubator within Google, in March 2021 and serves to organize documents such as receipts or invoices and prevent users from accumulating them out of order or losing them.

To do this, it uses machine learning, which names and even suggests a category where to save a certain document after taking a photo with the mobile camera. You can also make backup copies to the Google Drive cloud.

The company has now announced that, starting the week of September 23 of this year, it will be removing support for Google’s Stack: PDF Scanner, and that it has been integrated into Google Drive, which can now be used to scan, save and Organize your important documents.

To retain access to all Stack documents, users must export these contents to the Google storage platform, through the User Account Settings section. Documents can also be exported individually from the application.
