The youngest of the players, also a star of the Spanish National Team, was victim last weekend of racist shouts by a section of the Cívitas Metropolitano stands during the match against Atlético de Madrid. Nico Williams stopped the game to notify the referee and later celebrated his goal by pointing out the color of his skin.
About this episode he questioned David Broncano to the brothers during their visit to the Movistar Plus+ program, where they both regretted that these situations continue to happen and asked for “exemplary fines” to stop allowing them.
“It’s very sad. The other day there was, again, the worst thing that can happen on a football field,” the presenter of The resistance. The oldest of the brothers commented that “that is the real problem.” “We are idols for many people, for many children, we are role models. We are going to the soccer field to do our best. I don’t go to the theater and insult anyone, and in football it seems that everything is allowed. “After a game in San Mamés we almost ended up dead,” Iñaki began, revealing that a conflict over a play lasted hours.
