MILL SPRING, NC – The Skidmore College riding team had a strong second day and is second, with one day to go, at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship being held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

  • The Thoroughbreds trail Savannah College of Art and Design by eight points with three team events remaining.
  • The remaining team classes are Team Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, Team Open Equitation Over Fences, and Team Open Equitation on the Flat.
  • Charlotte Lyon got the day started by finishing eighth in the Team Limit Equitation On the Flat for a pair of team points.
  • Sadie Nesbitt earned the win in the Team Intermediate Equitation Over Fences. It got the team 10 points and catapulted the squad to near the top of the table.
  • In the Team Limit Equitation Over Fences, Elise Sigety was third.
  • Bevin Dean followed it up with a third-place finish in the Team Introductory Equitation.
  • Stella Allen placed eighth in the Team Novice Equitation.
  • Harper Sanford continued her strong weekend by placing fourth in the Individual Open Equitation On the Flat.
  • Emma Jennison also had a top five. She was third in the Individual Introductory Equitation.
  • Kenya Sanders showed in the opening classes of the Cacchione Cup, which concludes Sunday.
  • The championship concludes on Sunday with classes beginning at 8 am
