Senapred declares a red alert for Linares due to the danger of overflowing the Achibueno River « Diario y Radio Universidad Chile








The decision was adopted after intense rainfall in the Maule Region which, according to the information provided by the General Directorate of Water (DGA), caused the hydrometric network station to exceed the threshold values.

During this morning, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) decreed Red alert for the commune of Linares, Maule Region, due to the danger of overflowing the Achibueno River.

The decision was adopted after intense rainfall in the region that, according to the information provided by the General Directorate of Water (DGA), caused the hydrometric network station “Río Achibueno en la Recova” to exceed the red alert threshold values.

In this way, the local authorities canceled the yellow alert that was in force for the area and decreed this new emergency, in force from today and until the conditions of the event warrant it.

From Senapred they affirmed that with the declaration of the red alert all necessary and available resources will be mobilized to act given the extent and severity of the event.
