Mexican Embassy asks Peruvians to have a visa before planning a trip

Whether for academic reasons, a reunion with a relative after many years or a long-awaited family trip, the desperation of many Peruvians to obtain a visa to enter Mexico is increasing. Every day, they go to the headquarters of the embassy of that country, in the district of San Isidrohoping to obtain it so as not to see his plans frustrated.

The Gómez family is one of the many waiting outside the Mexican diplomatic headquarters to find some solution. They planned, for a long time, to visit the paradise Cancun beachbut this currently looks like it won’t be possible.

“We don’t have an appointment. I already took out my visa two months ago, but she (his wife) has not been able to arrive. So, we wanted to reschedule the appointment, but it was not possible. “When they gave the decree I started to collect my documents and when I wanted to go in to make an appointment there was no longer an appointment. They have blocked me several times, and several times I have re-entered with another email and nothing,” he commented.

He added that his trip is of a family nature and is scheduled for Wednesday the 26th of this month, but they have told him that on Friday the 28th appointments will only reopen at the Mexico’s embassy.

“It seems that I will no longer be able to travel, appointments open after my trip. Imagine,” the woman reproached.

A similar situation is going through Esmeralda, a compatriot who made an effort to obtain a vacancy in an international congress to be held in mexican lands.

“Since May 31 and June 1 I have been trying to get an appointment, but I have not been able to. When I enter the page I get blocked, which is unusual behavior and, then, you have to keep updating,” she said.

Esmeralda explained that her trip is still in August, but she needs to confirm her presence to the organizers at the latest. Sunday June 30.

“I have an academic stay in Mexico and I participate in an international conference there. So, I have to confirm my presence much sooner,” the young woman remarked.

Adolfo Zepeda, spokesman for the Mexico’s embassyexplained that the consular section is opening the appointment calendar to the public every month.
