An important gas leak occurred this Friday at Well 1570, location 262, operated by the oil company YPF, which led to the preventive closure of Route 17, on the route between Añelo and San Patricio del Chañar.

The incident occurred meters from the route, on a dirt road, orLocated in the plateau sector between Añelo and San Patricio del Chañar, police sources indicated.

Although it is a dirt route, The sector has a large influx of traffic since the Fracture Sand Collection Plant and the YPF Management Office are located nearby.

In dialogue with Better Informedthe chief commissioner, Claudio Vinet, maintained that “The problem occurred in the morning, which led to the intervention of YPF fire personnel and the preventive road closure until the problem was resolved.”

Vinet assured that “in principle it was thought that the work would require more time to repair, but the operation was quick, managing to stop the leak without people affected by the gases.”

The commissioner said that the participation of third parties in the breakage of the pipe is ruled out and assured that “it was a failure without the participation of third parties, so we rule out any act of vandalism in the place.”
