Gustavo Sáenz spoke about the tragedy that occurred on Thursday in an educational establishment in La Poma where an 11-year-old minor, Valentín Guzmán, lost his life when he fell into a blind man along with two other classmates. “I asked Minister Cristina Fiore to travel and settle in the place where the tragedy occurred. We know the same as you, that the boys were playing and jumping on the lid that covered the blind well, at one point it gave way and the children fell. Unfortunately, Valentín lost his life and it is a great sadness that shocks everyone in Salta. The place has sewers and the well no longer had a purpose. We do not know if the director or the supervisor asked for it to be covered. Generally that is done, we do not know the reason why it was still unfilled,” said the Salta president.

Sáenz said that the tragedy in La Poma mourns the entire people of Salta. “This morning I was with the two injured children, Efraín and Dalmiro. They are very sad for the loss of their companion. Shocked by what happened. They hope to be in La Poma to be able to say goodbye to Valentín, who was their friend,” he highlighted.
The Governor reported that he plans to go to La Poma where the Minister of Education Cristina Fiore is currently located. “We must let Justice investigate, let Justice act and really know what happened. It remains for us as the Government to carry out a survey if there was any request from the director or the supervisor regarding the covering of the blind well. We will know that soon. On the other hand, As Governor I will be close to Valentín’s family, the two injured children, and the entire town of La Poma that suffered this terrible tragedy.”. Sáenz repeated again that he is analyzing whether to go to that town in Salta with the two injured children when they are discharged.
The president of Salta also indicated that it is the directors and supervisors who must place the order for the spare parts and that these are being made as the Government can carry them out.. “No one should be held responsible. I repeat, we must let Justice act. We must be prudent on this issue, we must wait for Justice to investigate, and not draw hasty conclusions,” the Governor finally asked.
