After a term of five years in the European Parliament, this Sunday was the time to celebrate new European elections. Some 360 million citizens of the 27 countries that make up the European Union (EU) They are called to the polls to elect representatives for the next five years.
Spain is the fourth country with the highest representation in the European Parliament, only behind Germany, France and Italy. After the socialists, the PP obtained 20.15% of the votes (12 seats), and Ciudadanos 12.18% (7 seats). Podemos-IU, VOX, Ahora Repúblicas, Junts and Coalition for a Solid Europe (CEUS) were the other groups that obtained representation.

At the national level, and with a 49.20% share (11% less than in 2019) the victory in Spain has been for the Popular Party, as stated in previous polls today and the exit polls. The list headed by Dolors Montserrat has won the 34.18% of the votes, while the PSOE keeps 30.18%. The PP obtains 22 seatsten more than in the last elections, while the PSOE obtains 20, the same as it currently had.
Vox rises and positions itself as the third political forceafter obtaining twice as many seats (six) as it had, with a 9.62% of the votes and more than one and a half million supports. With three seats there are three different formations: Now Republics (865,214 votes), Sumar (808,922) and The Party is Over (797,616). Podemos goes from six deputies to just two, while Junts and CEUS obtain a MEP.

Going to a more detailed level, the PP has turned almost the entire map blue, winning in all territories except Canary Islands (PSOE), Catalonia (PSC), Navarra (PSC) and Basque Country (EH Bildu). In fact, the popular ones have obtained more than 1.4 million more votes than in the last elections.
As for the provinces, there is also blue dominance. The only ones in which it has not been imposed has been in Las Palmas (PSOE), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (PSOE), Girona (Junts)Lleida (Junts), Barcelona (PSC), Tarragona (PSC), Navarra (PSOE), Gipuzkoa (Bildu), Álava (PSOE) and Vizcaya (PSOE).
