Sporting Cristal welcomes Guillermo Farré

Sporting Cristal has officially announced through its social networks the hiring of Guillermo Farré as its new technical director. Farré, 43, joins the Rimense team after his notable management at Belgrano de Córdoba, where he achieved promotion to the Argentine first division and qualified the team for the Copa Sudamericana last year.

Farré’s contract with Sporting Cristal will run until December 2025, marking his first international experience as a coach. Farré will disembark in Peru this Friday, June 14, and will be officially presented before assuming his responsibilities at the head of the team.

This appointment comes after considering several candidates for the position, including names such as Jorge Cazulo, Gustavo Munúa and Ramón Díaz, but finally the leadership of Sporting Cristal opted for Farré’s proposal. His arrival is considered key to strengthening the team for the 2024 Liga 1 Clausura Tournament.

Farré also attracted interest from clubs such as Emelec of Ecuador and Newell’s Old Boys of Argentina, but chose the offer from Sporting Cristal for the sports project and the opportunity to work abroad.

In his first message to the club, Farré expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to Sporting Cristal’s goals, ensuring that he is “totally convinced and committed to achieving the maximum” with the club.
