Donald Sutherland, ‘The Hunger Games’ actor, dies at 88 – El Financiero

Are you, are you coming to the tree?”: Legendary actor Donald Sutherland has died at the age of 88. He is remembered for half a century of career in which his role as Coriolanus Snowthe fearsome president of Panem in The Hunger Games.

His death was confirmed in X by his son Kiefer Sutherland, director of 24 and Last call:

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. Personally, I think he is one of the most important actors in the history of cinema. He never shied away from a role, whether good, bad or ugly. I loved what I did and he did what he loved, and you can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”

Sutherland always enjoyed acting: “I love working. I’m passionate about working,” she told Charlie Rose in 1998. “I love feeling like my hand fits into another character’s glove. I feel enormous freedom: time stops for me. “I’m not as crazy as before, but I’m still a little crazy.”

Donald Sutherland’s death was confirmed by his son in a statement from X.

In 1971 he premiered Kluteby Alan J. Pakula, a neo-noir psychological thriller that gave him what is considered one of his most acclaimed roles in which he played John Klute, a private detective who falls in love with a prostitute played by Jane Fonda.

In 2017 he was recognized by the Hollywood Academy with an honorary Oscar, although was never nominated for some of his actions.

Donald Sutherland’s children

Sutherland was married to Francine Racette, Shirley Douglas and Lois Hardwick and began his career in the 1960s and had five children:

  • Rachel and Kiefer, with actress Shirley Douglas.
  • Rossif, Angus and Roeg, with Francine Racette.
