The very low temperatures recorded throughout the region, which will continue and even worsen towards the weekend, have led authorities at Camuzzi Gas Pampeana to resume restrictions on the sale of compressed natural gas at service stations in Mar del Plata and the area.
The new measure was announced this afternoon, was applied immediately and is directly related to the prevailing weather conditions, with days that have reached temperatures below zero and have increased domestic consumption for heating purposes.
Now Mar del Plata could confirm that 14 service stations in Mar del Plata that have a contract considered “interruptible”, which mostly entered this market in recent times, began to receive notifications confirming the cessation of sales until further notice. It also impacts 4 others from the Costa Party.
This had happened a little more than two months ago, when also due to low thermal temperatures and excessive demand in private and commercial homes, the decision had been made to cut off the supply to service stations. On that occasion, the measure was extended for weeks and was even extended to a few industrial establishments.
Camuzzi Gas Pampeana confirmed to Ahora Mar del Plata that the scope of the restrictions that were put in place this Thursday are less far-reaching than the previous time, when it affected a large part of the province of Buenos Aires.
The government had then pointed out that the conditions had been resolved to guarantee normal benefits both in the home network and in the requirement for cars that run on CNG equipment.
“Due to the low delivery pressures that are being recorded in the system, beyond the control of this distributor, and the high consumption of uninterruptible users – a product of the current weather conditions -, it is necessary to interrupt their supply of natural gas”reads the notes that were sent since mid-afternoon by authorities of Camuzzi Gas Pampeana.
It is worth remembering that in the case of Mar del Plata and the area, single-digit thermal marks and even the possibility of snowfall are anticipated for this weekend, initially announced for this Saturday.
