This Tuesday, a group of dancers “set fire” to the stage of the reality American’s Got Talent. The fire malambo company, Legión, performed on the program and starred in one of the most impressive performances of the competition.
With cockades, bass drums and fire boots they dazzled not only the audience, but also the four members of the jury: Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofía Vergara and Simon Cowell.
Their performance was so extraordinary that they received the long-awaited golden button and went directly and non-stop to the semifinals.
In Tuesday’s edition of talent show10 malambo dancers stood in front of the jury, who asked them for a brief presentation.
The artists revealed that although this was not their main job, they rehearsed every week because “this is what we want to do for a living.” Simon Cowell asked them if they saw themselves as winners and they didn’t doubt it. “We believe that we are going to win,” said Agustín Rubin, as spokesman for the group.
Likewise, he indicated that, if they managed to keep the prize money, they would use it to have their own studio, since they rehearsed in the patio of the house of ‘Chiqui and Tito’, the parents of Fabián Serna, who, in addition to being a dancer, He is the director of the company.
When the presentation ended, the audience’s standing applause said it all. Heidi Klum was the first to stand and her colleagues followed her. On stage, meanwhile, a man appeared with a fire extinguisher to put out the “flaming” shoes.
Emotion enveloped the artists. The long hours of rehearsal, the sacrifice and the trip to California, United States, were worth it. “We needed that. It was epic,” said Cowell, one of the most demanding jury figures. For his part, Mandel described the presentation as something “very exciting, unexpected and surprising.”
Sofía Vergara took the stage to congratulate the artists. “I scared them!” She said, amused, since for a few moments everyone thought that she was going to turn her back on the group, but nothing could be further from the truth.
“This is exactly why we are here. This is America’s Got Talent, this can change the lives of these kids and I love being part of this,” said the actress. The Argentines will decide if they pass the semifinals of the competition.
