Russia-Ukraine War – Attacks between both countries increase as well as weapon system casualties

Recently, Ukraine has claimed that its military hit two Russian landing ships during several night attacks in Crimea, along with other infrastructure used by the Russian navy in the Black Sea. According to a statement this Sunday, “Ukrainian defense forces successfully hit the large landing ships Azov and Yamal, a communications center and also several infrastructure facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Crimea.”

Although it was not specifically communicated how these objectives were achieved, Ukraine carried out one of the most massive attacks in recent months. According to the Russian governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, there was only one death and four people injured, in addition to various infrastructure and passenger ships damaged.

For kyiv, a third of the Russian Black Sea fleet has been destroyed in its hands since the start of the invasion in February 2022, mainly through night drone strikes. And although a large part of this Russian fleet has moved further east amid the wave of attacks, specifically to the port of Novorossiysk, it is a reality that Russia has progressively requested weapons systems in recent days. According to the Ukrainian army, Russia lost 44 artillery systems in the last 24 hours, which add to the 6,876 combat tanks since the start of the conflict.

However, Russia has also significantly stepped up its airstrikes against Ukraine in recent days. Last Friday, Moscow again attacked kyiv and its energy system, while on Saturday they claimed to have taken a village on the western outskirts of Bakhmut, in eastern Ukraine. Likewise, this Sunday the attacks with cruise missiles and drones deepened during the night in the same geographical area.
