Vegan influencer sentenced for letting his newborn baby die of hunger

A vegan influencer confessed in court to having caused the death of his one-month-old son requiring him to live on sunlight instead of food.

Maxim Lyutyi, 44, admitted that his son Kosmos died of “pneumonia and malnutrition” after failing to feed him properly: He was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Previously, Lyuty had tried to blame his partner Oxana Mironova, 34, who already received a two-year conditional sentence of “correctional labor.”

He had argued in court that his partner had an iron deficiency as a result of her dietary choices that They caused the death of the baby, who weighed less than two kilos.

The Russian Justice determined that Lyutyi wanted to raise the newborn on a pranic diet, an unusual and dramatic practice in which people spend a long time without food or water and “feed on the sun.”

The vegan influencer was sentenced by Justice to eight years in prison for the death of his one-month-old son.

It was also confirmed that he had wanted to experiment with the little boy to make him as Superman. The little boy died on March 8, 2023 and the case has now come to light due to the effective prison sentence that the court handed down to his father.

Before his death, the little boy was taken to the hospital for severe pneumonia that developed as a result of malnutrition, but doctors’ attempts were not enough.

According to testimonies from people close to the couple, the child’s mother, identified as Oxana Mironova, was trying to breastfeed the baby secretly from her husband, due to great fear of the reaction he might have.
